"Answer"
I thought this would be more difficult
than it was, but several people correctly identified this bird
as a MEW GULL, mostly based on the fine bill and "cute"
appearance. However, this bird is just starting to molt out of
juvenile plumage and is a plumage which is not often seen in
Northern CA.
